Water is the most common and important substance known to man. Most living things are largely made up of water. About seventy percent of the Earth is covered by water in the forms of solid, liquid or gas. Approximately two-thirds of the human body consists of water in the form of blood. Almost all processes containing water have a need for pH measurement and nearly all living things depend on a proper pH level to sustain life. For example, most plants need to sustain a certain pH to thrive. Changing the pH slightly in the soil can kill those plants. Put simply, pH is an integral part of our everyday life.
The blood flowing through the veins of the human body must ideally maintain a pH between 7.32 to 7.45. A Blood pH of 7.45 has 64.9% more excess oxygen than a Blood pH of 7.3 as stated in San Whang’s book “Reverse Aging”. If our blood exceeds this delicate range by as little as one-tenth of a pH unit, it could prove fatal to our health.
The human body is a natural healing machine. When the blood pH goes off balance from its natural pH scale, our body will go to great lengths to bring that pH balance back. As a result for the body to protect itself, just to name a few consequences, our body system will store fat, build cholesterol plaques, steal calcium out of our bones and rob other important minerals like magnesium from our vital organs such as the heart and from muscles. The body is reacting to the pH changes to build up a buffer to protect itself from acid damages.
As the blood pH shifts toward acidity levels, it becomes a breeding ground for all diseases in the body. It initiates, ferments, and grows all detrimental health threatening illnesses known to human kind. Conditions such as cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, asthma, eczema, headaches, acne, and cellulite exist and continue to kill slowly all in relative to the absence of oxygen and low blood pH.
When the blood pH falls below 7.32, our body starts to react. We feel bloated from high water retention, experience weight gain, feel low in energy, and accelerate in our aging. Our body is able to recover and rebalance when we are young but as we age, our elimination process that helps us maintain the natural blood pH slows down. As result, toxins accumulate in our body and health problems begin. For example, obesity is one of the most common results of acidosis or low pH. The body retains the fat to protect against overproduction of acids. It is the part of a larger survival mechanism mentioned earlier. The more acidic our Blood pH, the more fat our body will retain to protect us.
The saying goes “We are what we eat”. Therefore, avoid consumption of “acidic” foods that can cause our blood pH to drop. Samples of acidic foods are red meat, white bread, greasy food, carbonated beverages, coffee, alcohol, candies, etc. Packaged and processed foods are also acidic and labeled as “dead food” as they do not contain enzymes and are made with preservatives and bi-products.
A little acidity change in our body steals large amounts of energy from our body. For example if we drink 1 oz of Coke (pH 2.0), we would need at least 12 or more ounces of ionized water at a pH of 10 to neutralize it.
Smoking, stress and lack of physical activity also cause the body to become more acidic due to the decrease in oxygen intake.
Thus, maintain a balanced pH and it will help us to lose weight and to look great! In addition, consume a balanced diet with healthy alkaline based foods, exercise more frequently and keep your stress level to minimal. Meditations, body massages, body wraps, thermal and water body treatments are also beneficial to eliminating the stress and toxins from our body and mind to achieve the suggested pH score of 7.32-7.45. Daily practice of healthy living is the key to longevity!
